SHRINERS IN YOUR COMMUNITY FUND

 

This fund was established around the early fifties and is used to purchase orthopaedic equipment for children such as specialized wheelchairs, orthopaedic shoes, braces and other specialized equipment. There is an application form and any family can apply by sending a request with a detailed explanation of the reason and cost to the Hospital Chairman at the Cowichan Valley Shrine Club.

Funding is through donations by the clubs and units and any other voluntary donations. 13% of gaming funds are allocated to this fund.

Over 630 children have benefited from this program providing speacialized medical equipment to improve the quality of life for children throughout the province.
